Are you interested in working as a psychologist in the school world? Consider a placement at the student welfare psychologist unit of Western Uusimaa!
Each year, our wellbeing services county offers psychology students the opportunity to complete the 5-month paid placement included in their studies at the student welfare psychologist unit. A trainee salary determined by the wellbeing services county is paid during the placement.
The application process for the placements is opened in Kuntarekry twice a year:
- In January, we look for trainees to begin in January the following year.
- In May, we look for trainees to begin in August the following year.
The application periods are during weeks 4–5 and 21–22, and the interviews are held immediately after the application period. Placements are available in pre-primary and basic education (primary and lower secondary education) and in upper secondary education in the whole area of Western Uusimaa: Espoo, Kauniainen, Kirkkonummi, Lohja, Vihti, Karkkila, Hanko, Inkoo, Raasepori and Siuntio.
Being bilingual is an advantage – the ability to work in Finnish and Swedish is considered an advantage.
We recommend that you keep an eye on the information published on this page and submit your application directly in Kuntarekry. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications sent in any other way because of the large number of applicants.
We also offer opportunities for shorter, unpaid familiarisation periods. The coordination of these familiarisation periods is done in cooperation with the university and the psychologist unit.
