Car procurement subsidy for people with disabilities

We provide financial assistance for the purchase of a car to perform day-to-day activities.

The costs of procuring equipment, machines and devices that are needed for performing daily activities are reimbursed to people with disabilities who absolutely need them to move, communicate, cope at home or participate in leisure activities due to their disability or illness. Disability Services do not provide compensation for equipment, machines and devices covered by medical rehabilitation. A person with a disability can receive compensation for a car or van as a means of transport. The compensation covers half of the reasonable costs of the means of transport (including delivery costs). Full compensation is provided for any modifications required to the standard piece of equipment due to the person's disability. These means of transport are primarily provided to those who need them most. The prerequisite for receiving cost compensation is that the need for a means of transport is caused by a disability or illness and that the need for transport is constant and daily due to work, for example. The regular use of mobility aids and other justifications related to disability, illness or social life that support the need for a personal car are also taken into account. It is essential to present how the aid would facilitate the mobility of the person with a disability. When it comes to families with children, the space requirement caused by mobility aids is also assessed.
