Early childhood education and care for children with disabilities

We provide early childhood education for children with disabilities, taking into account their special needs.

Early childhood education for children with disabilities is primarily organised under the Act on Early Childhood Education and Care. The service includes individualised support measures. In the case of children with intellectual disabilities, early childhood education can be provided as special care if the need for day care is based on safeguarding the individual care of the child, and if the aim is to promote the child's ability to perform daily activities.  A diagnosis of intellectual disability is not in itself a sufficient reason to include day care in a special care programme.  The early childhood education as special care service includes transportation.
