Principles for awarding organisational grants in 2026

  • Eligible applicants are registered associations or other registered organisations, such as foundations.
  • An organisation just starting its operations must be able to document its activities sufficiently (e.g. attach board minutes).
  • Grants are awarded only for non-profit activities. The grant may not distort competition and may not be used to support business-like operations.
  • Activities must be carried out for the organisation’s chosen target group—including special groups—in at least one municipality in Western Uusimaa, or via digital means that reach the population more broadly.
  • Grants are awarded to organisational activities that align with the wellbeing services county's strategies and support the objectives of the Wellbeing Plan for the chosen target group.
  • An organisation may charge membership fees, but activities funded by the grant must be free of charge to service users and open to all who belong to the target group. Participation in wellbeing- and health-promoting activities must not require membership or payment of a membership fee to access services.
  • The same activity may receive funding in only one grant. Organisations and associations may also receive funding from municipalities or other grant-awarding bodies.
  • Grant-aided organisations must comply with applicable laws and regulations, good practice, and generally accepted ethical principles.
  • Applicants must maintain accounting in a way that enable monitoring of grant use. Non-profit activities must be separated in the accounts from any service provision or other economic activities.
  • No grants are awarded to organisations whose main purpose is religious or party-political activity.
  • Late applications will not be processed, and no grants can be awarded in such cases.
  • The minimum grant awarded is EUR 1,000.
  • Recipients must report annually to the wellbeing services county on the received grant.
