Dental hygienist appointments
At a dental hygienist appointment, you will receive help with maintaining good oral health, treating gum problems and cleaning your teeth. During your visit, tartar and plaque are removed, as they can cause gum inflammation and other oral diseases. You will also receive practical guidance on home care to help you maintain a healthy smile between appointments.
Services for adults
You can see a dental hygienist after an examination on a dentist’s recommendation or attend a routine maintenance appointment according to your treatment plan.
A dental hygienist appointment typically begins with an oral health examination, including an assessment of your teeth and gums and any need for treatment. If necessary, cleaning and treatment may be initiated during the same visit. The dental hygienist will refer you to an appointment with a dentist if needed.
Dental hygienist care is planned individually. The duration of the appointment and the number of visits needed depend, for example, on the condition of your gums and the amount of tartar.
The cost of the visit is based on the time spent on treatment. The oral health examination, any local anaesthesia and the appointment fee are charged separately. The appointment fee is added to each visit.
