The County Board decided at its meeting on 10 October 2022:

1. to ensure the continuity of organisations’ activities by awarding grants for the period from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023 as granted by the social services and healthcare bodies of the municipalities of Western Uusimaa (Espoo, Kauniainen, Kirkkonummi, Lohja, Raasepori) for the year 2022;

2. to also award grants to a number of organisations that were not awarded grants in 2022, on the grounds that the grants awarded in 2021 were not used due to the coronavirus pandemic and were carried over to 2022;

3. that grants can be paid to organisations that declare their willingness to receive a grant and have indicated in the survey of the Wellbeing Services County that they still meet the criteria set out in the decisions of the municipalities’ social services and healthcare bodies and

4. that, in accordance with the administrative rule, the Future and Development Committee will start preparing the actual guidelines for the grant criteria. Addendum of the County Board: In this context, the needs of the residents of the county, the justification for the grant in terms of the activities of the county and the equal treatment of organisations must be taken into account.

During October, the Wellbeing Services County will contact the organisations that received a grant in 2022 to find out whether they are still carrying out activities similar to those for which the grant was awarded. At the same time, the organisations will indicate whether a grant is needed for 2023. This means that the organisations do not need to contact the Wellbeing Services County themselves.

The criteria for the 2024 grant of the Wellbeing Services County will be prepared in cooperation with the municipalities and organisations. The aim is to clarify what types of activities will be supported by the Wellbeing Services County in the future.
