Espoo’s student welfare services are utilising the Cool Kids program to provide group support for 7th to 9th graders experiencing anxiety, tension, and fear.

Cool Kids is an anxiety treatment program rooted in cognitive behavioural therapy and designed for children and adolescents aged 7–17 and their guardians. Both the young person and their guardian participate in the Cool Kids group. Each session is divided into collective group work and separate work for youths and guardians. The program consists of 10 weekly group sessions held in the early evening.

If you are interested in the program, please contact your child's school nurse, psychologist, or school social worker. Our goal is to prevent the development of severe anxiety symptoms by offering the Cool Kids intervention as early as possible.  This program is currently being implemented across the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County.
