Registration for Pupils’ Holiday Care
It’s almost time for the primary and lower secondary school autumn holidays! This notice is for families whose child has been granted holiday care for pupils with intellectual disabilities or severe autism.
The Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County provides holiday care for pupils with disabilities during all school breaks: autumn, Christmas, winter, and summer holidays.
To register, fill out the attached form and return it to your Disability Services Office at least two months before the care period begins. Espoo residents should primarily submit the form via Wilma, directly to either the educational administration or the pupils’ school.
A decision on holiday care will be mailed to you, provided that the pupil has a valid authorisation from Disability Services to attend care.
We will inform guardians if we are unable to provide holiday care due to a late application.
Please notify the care facility of any permanent changes to the granted care hours at least 3 weeks in advance.
About Holiday Care
- Holiday care provides engaging group activity that ensures your child receives the care and attention they need. Children in holiday care will be served both lunch and a snack during the day.
- For further information on holiday care in your municipality, you can contact social work for people with disabilities.
- Generally, care hours run from Monday to Friday from 8.00–16.00. If your child needs a companion (a school employee) during transport, the transport time will count towards care hours.
- Pupils who attend school in a municipality outside the Wellbeing Services County (e.g., the Valteri School Ruskis in Helsinki) also primarily receive holiday care in the Western Uusimaa area.
