Ella app available for download from application stores
The Ella application is an activity and method database, developed for client work in the operating environments of healthcare social welfare. It was developed in the disability services, but its content is equally suitable for working with other client groups. Clients can also use Ella independently. The Ella application can be downloaded from the application stores of Apple and Google for free.
Ella provides richer content for client work
The Ella application has two sections, the first of which is aimed at instructors and other professionals. It contains ideas, material and information that professionals can use to support their instruction work. The range of materials for instructing different groups is wide, from colour choices and skeleton exercises in the morning to virtual trips and many other things.
The support materials for instructors are divided into the following topics:
- content for morning information sessions
- conversation topics
- method database
- multisensory activities
- work life.
There is a wide variety of content under each topic: videos, links, images and texts. All the texts are also available in audio format.
Download the Ella application to your mobile device and see how it can help you in your client work!
Ella is full of interesting and independent exercises
The second section of the Ella application contains content that clients can use independently or together with their instructor or group. Through this section, clients can access things such as virtual trips, learn tips for everyday skills and watch relaxation videos. All the texts in Ella are also available in audio format.
“The Ella application supports the digital participation of clients of the disability services. It is a user-friendly collection of material that clients can use,” says Samuli Niemi who is the special instructor responsible for Ella.
The Ella application is currently only available in Finnish, but Swedish-language content is coming.
Ella is developed through network cooperation
The Ella application is owned, maintained and developed by the digital services unit of the disability services of the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County. The content production team consists of special instructors from the wellbeing service county’s disability services.
The network cooperation has also highlighted the City of Helsinki’s expertise in disability work, especially in the sections “multisensory activities” and “work life”. The aim is to increase the networks of content producers so that the contribution of every Finnish disability work professional is highlighted and widely shared.
“If you have a wish or an idea or materials for new Ella content or if you would like to join the network of content producers, do not hesitate to contact us,” Samuli says. You can contact us at dipa@luvn.fi(external link) or myself directly at samuli.niemi@luvn.fi. (external link)
