One unified Senior Info as of 1 December 2023
Senior Info’s counselling service will be harmonised as of 1 December, after which the wellbeing services county’s elderly residents and their next of kin can reach the service via a single phone number and email address, regardless of their municipality of residence. Previously, there were separate services for the Eastern and Western regions.
The idea behind the harmonisation is to improve and harmonise the service provided to Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County’s clients.
“The unified Senior Info allows us to respond to residents more quickly. The time spent investigating each matter is also reduced with access to the wellbeing service county’s common information systems. We aim to better meet the Swedish-speaking clients’ needs in the future,” says Senior Info’s Client Relations Manager Anni Rönnmark.
Senior Info’s harmonisation project includes further improvements to the wellbeing service county’s website for the elderly. The website Hyvinvointia ikääntyneille compiles information on preventive services and activities to promote the wellbeing of the elderly in the Western Uusimaa region.
“We are also preparing a printed service guide to make everyday life easier for the elderly who struggle or cannot search for information on the wellbeing service county’s website luvn.fi. The ‘I need help or advice’ contact form remains available on the website as before,” Rönnmark says.
Information and guidance for the elderly and their loved ones
Services for the elderly are granted based on a service needs assessment and service-specific criteria. Senior Info’s counselling service provides information about the services for the elderly and helps to map their life situation and possible need for services.
“Senior Info’s counselling service provides advice and service guidance for those with concerns about coping with everyday life. After assessing the elderly person’s life situation and request for support, we direct them to a more extensive service needs assessment, if necessary. In this case, the Senior Info will make a home visit to the elderly person.”
You can also contact Senior Info if you are worried about your loved one and their coping in everyday life. Submitting a notification of concern by phone, email, or the online form is easy.
You can also call Senior Info if you want professional guidance to support your or your loved one’s wellbeing.
“Senior Info provides advice if you are suffering from loneliness and need the company of your peers. The client advisors inform the clients of services to support their wellbeing, such as Olkkari activities.
However, it is important to remember that Senior Info is not a healthcare appointment booking service.
“In case of a medical emergency, you should contact your health centre or call the emergency number 112. Senior Info’s counselling service does not book appointments for health services. Prescription renewals and doctor or dentist appointments must always be agreed with your own health centre or dental care unit,” Rönnmark says.
