Home delivery service for meals to change at the beginning of 2024

1.12.2023 17.24

The Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County has organised competitive tendering for home-delivered meals. The service change is based on the County Board’s decision (31 January 2023) to outsource meal services.

The procurement has been guided by strategic principles, such as the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions from transport and the fact that the food must comply with national nutrition recommendations.

The new service provider, Menumat, will start operating in the new locations in January and February. Menumat currently delivers meals in the wellbeing services county to several locations in disability services and is also known as a service provider to those who use home care services.

As a result of the competitive tendering process, home-delivered meals will be delivered to residents in frozen form. The wellbeing services county meal services, together with home care and the service provider, will ensure a safe transition to the new service. We will provide more information about the service change at the turn of the year.
