Updated Consent for Patient Data Sharing - Confirm Receipt in MyKanta for Added Convenience

From now on, when you give consent to patient data sharing, your health care providers will be able to access not only the information stored in Kanta, but also the data about you that is recorded on paper. This change is detailed in a notification that you may have received in MyKanta after 30 November 2023.
How to Confirm Receipt of the Updated Information about Kanta Services?
You can confirm receipt in the MyKanta service:
- Access MyKanta at kanta.fi and log in using your online banking credentials, or another method.
- If you haven’t received the new “Information about Kanta Services” notification yet, it will open in a new browser window for you to read.
- Read the notification and confirm receipt by checking the box at the end.
- You can then consent to share your data or update your existing consent in MyKanta.
Starting 2 January 2024, you can also acknowledge the Kanta Services information during a healthcare visit. In this case, a healthcare professional will present the updated information and record your acknowledgement in the system.
