Minors’ information will be available in MyKanta in the future

The update of the Espoo patient information system at the beginning of February will make it possible to display the patient and prescription data recorded in health care services in MyKanta also to the guardians of children aged over 10 at a professional’s discretion.

Professionals will add a note in the patient information whether the minor’s data may be disclosed to their guardians. In the future, a minor assessed as sufficiently mature may decide whether their guardians can see their health care date.       

An assessment of the minor’s situation is carried out separately at each appointment. The assessment is influenced by factors such as the child’s age, maturity level and reason for the visit.
