Family Care Guidelines have been published
The Family Care Guidelines, prepared by the Disability Services, have now been published. We used the previous regional family care guidelines for disability services in the preparation of the new Family Care Guidelines. We aimed to maintain the good practices established in the previous guidelines and clarify their instructions.
The purpose of the Family Care Guidelines is to ensure equal rights and obligations for local family carers as commissioned care providers of persons with disabilities.
The Guidelines provide instructions on family care in matters related to the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County, such as granting family care, commission agreements, fees paid to family carers, the status of family carers and the termination of family care in disability services.

Are you interested in becoming a family carer?
Family care is a disability service that the wellbeing services county provides to local residents. In family care, the care is provided at the family carer’s private home or the care recipient’s home. Family care can be long-term, short-term or part-time. The wellbeing services county concludes a commission agreement with a family carer or an agreement with a private family care provider on the organisation of family care.
