The City of Espoo and our wellbeing services county have received state funding to eradicate long-term homelessness in Espoo. The City of Espoo has been granted €145,000, while the wellbeing services county receives €220,000 for the first phase of the project (1 February 2025 – 30 June 2026). Additional funding will be sought in 2026 for the second phase.

The goal is to eradicate long-term homelessness in Espoo by 2027 and develop a sustainable, collaborative model to prevent homelessness in the future.

Key Project Actions:

  • Map local service providers who work with homeless individuals
  • Strengthen cooperation among stakeholders to prevent future homelessness
  • Focus on homeless young adults (18+) and others reached through outreach programs
  • Partner with major landlords to explore housing solutions

The project launches in February 2025 with staff recruitment. Work with clients starts in April.
