A new dental clinic opens in Niittykumpu
The staff of Matinkatu Dental Clinic will move to Niittykumpu, and new dentists, nurses and dental hygienists have also been recruited to the clinic. The new clinic will start receiving patients on Wednesday 5 March.
Niittykumpu Dental Clinic will open downstairs of Niittyportti Family Centre at the address Niittyportti 4. In the first phase of the project, about half of the premises will be made available, and the second phase is expected to be completed at the beginning of 2026. When Niittykumpu Dental Clinic is completed in its entirety, it will be the single largest dental clinic in all of Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County.
"We are very happy to have access to modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment in a location with excellent transport connections," says Anna Ekdahl, senior dentist of the southeast region. "Especially here in Espoo, we have had only few appointments available for non-urgent dental care. At Niittykumpu Dental Clinic, we will also be able to offer some new appointments, even though one clinic cannot fix the situation at once."
Ekdahl says that a large unit introduces new kinds of opportunities for using different treatment models, for example. It is possible to use the staff and facilities more efficiently than in small units.

Niittyportti building gets a new lease of life with Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County
Niittykumpu Family Centre has operated in Niittyportti 4 since October 2023. The new dental clinic is located downstairs of the family centre, on the ground floor of the building. The first phase of the renovating and constructing the dental clinic took eight months. "The site was completed on schedule and cooperation with the contractor, Restok Oy, and the developer, HGR Property Partners Oy, was smooth," says Development Manager Kalevi Aittola.
The opening of the family centre already gave a new lease of life to the building designed by Aarne Ervi and constructed in 1971. The dental clinic will bring even more energy to the site. Businesses such as a lunch restaurant and a dance school moved to the building alongside the family centre. Architect Aarne Ervi is known for designing the Tapiola Centre and its key buildings (swimming hall, Kino Tapiola, the central tower and Heikintori Shopping Centre).
