Vaccinations against tick-borne encephalitis at schools and early education centres

The free vaccinations against tick-borne encephalitis included in the national vaccination programme are extended to children aged 3 and over attending early childhood education or comprehensive school education in the risk areas in Western Uusimaa, defined by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).

Vaccinations are offered at appointments with the school nurse and at health centres, and children aged 3–6 are vaccinated centrally in Espoo at the Kivenlahti maternity and child health clinic and in other municipalities at the child’s own clinic.
