Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County to introduce Suomi.fi Messages in 2026
The Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County will introduce Suomi.fi Messages in 2026. The schedule depends on other ongoing system changes, such as the implementation of a shared client and patient information system. We will provide more detailed information once the schedule has been confirmed.
In future, the wellbeing services county will be able to send decisions, notifications and client invoices via Suomi.fi Messages.
Official mail will mainly be sent electronically from 2026
From 2026, Suomi.fi Messages will be available to all adults who use services online but have not yet activated the feature. It will be activated when users log in for the first time to any e-service provided by an authority at the beginning of 2026. During authentication, users will be informed about Suomi.fi Messages and asked to provide an email address for notifications about new messages. After the change, more than four million people will mainly receive official mail electronically.
The change does not apply to persons who do not use public administration e-services, minors, those under guardianship or anyone with a valid continuing power of attorney. They will continue to receive official mail in paper form.
