STRATEGI – Courses on parental guidance
The courses are intended for parents with children and young people aged 4–12 and 13–17 and diagnosed with ADHD/ADD.
The course contents and implementation are based on the Swedish method ‘Strategi’, imported to Finland by the Finnish ADHD Association. The aim of the course is to provide basic information about ADHD and ADD and methods for supporting the positive behaviour of young people, to strengthen the role of parenthood and to make family life easier.
The course consists of five evening sessions, focusing on the following topics:
- Basic Information about ADHD and ADD
- Strengthening the role of parenthood and facilitating family life
- Methods for supporting positive behaviour
- Tools for preventing and managing problem behaviour
- Community support networks and services
Course for parents with children aged 4–12
The course will be held on Wednesdays from 4 March to 1 April 2026 between 16:30 and 19:00 online via Teams. The course instructors are Johanna Blomqvist and Monika Loog.
Course for parents with children aged 13–17
The course will be held on Wednesdays from 24 February to 24 March 2026 from 16:30 to 19:00 online via Teams.
The course instructors are Virpi Tervo and Heidi Heimburger.
The courses are held in Finnish, but you can use either Finnish or Swedish in discussions. The material is also available in Swedish.
The courses are offered free of charge.

Register for the course by email at strategiakurssi@luvn.fi by 13 February 2026. Use the heading ‘Registration for Strategy Course on Parental Guidance 2026 (Children aged 4–12)’ or ‘Registration for Strategy Course on Parental Guidance 2026 (Young people aged 13–17)’ in your message. You will receive a confirmation message after registration.

When registering, please provide your name and contact details, i.e. the email address to which you wish to receive the Teams link and your telephone number. We kindly ask you to disclose the age of your child. It is recommended that both parents or adults present in the child’s everyday life to participate simultaneously in the course, if possible. There are 30 spots available on each course.
