Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County selects AI solution for client and patient documentation

The Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County has selected Tandem Health AB to deliver an AI-assisted solution for documenting client and patient information. The aim of the solution is to speed up documentation and free up professionals’ time for direct work with service users.

The procurement was conducted jointly with Eloisa, the South Savo Wellbeing Services County, but each wellbeing services county will sign its own agreement with the selected supplier.

The procurement decision of the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County was published on 27 May 2026.

Two companies submitted tenders in the procurement procedure: Tandem Health AB and Gosta Labs Oy. Both tenders met the requirements of the invitation to tender and were taken forward for comparison.

The tenders were assessed based on price and quality, with quality accounting for 70 per cent of the overall evaluation and price for 30 per cent. The comparison examined, among other things, the usability of the solution, its technical implementation and the supplier’s ability to deploy the system.

Tandem Health AB achieved the highest overall score in the comparison, receiving a total of 98.36 points. Gosta Labs Oy scored 96.68 points. Tandem Health AB received full points for price and the highest scores for the functional quality and usability of the solution.

This procurement is for a software service that helps social welfare and healthcare professionals document client and patient information using artificial intelligence. It also includes an implementation project, support and maintenance services and expert services.

“Western Uusimaa has had positive experiences with AI-assisted documentation of client and patient information. Documentation has already been carried out by a wide range of social welfare and healthcare professionals, including doctors, social workers, physiotherapists and psychologists. The aim now is to extend AI-assisted documentation to all our social welfare and healthcare professionals and to free up their time for direct work and meetings with the service users,” says Nelli Myllylä, Director of Development and Innovation at the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County.

The evaluated price of the winning tender is approximately EUR 2.1 million for the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County and approximately EUR 1.7 million for the South Savo Wellbeing Services County, excluding VAT. The price includes the implementation project, costs related to four years of use and funds reserved for further development of the system.

The solution is scheduled to be rolled out gradually in the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County during 2026–2027.
