Doctor and nurse appointments to begin in Karaportti, Espoo
Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County will open a new health station service point at Karaportti 5 in Karaportti, Espoo, on 1 September 2026. The new service point will bring doctor and nurse appointments closer to local residents and strengthen services in a growing part of Espoo.
The Karaportti service point is part of Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County’s work to develop services around residents’ needs. Rather than centralising services farther away, the aim is to bring them closer to people’s everyday lives. The aim is to ensure smooth access to care and a continuous, familiar care relationship at the client’s own health station.
The new service point will be staffed by personal doctor–nurse teams. Under the personal doctor model, the client’s care is provided by a familiar professional who knows the client’s situation and can support continuity of care. The model improves access to services, makes care easier to navigate and strengthens long-term care, especially for clients who use services frequently.
The new appointment facilities in Karaportti will allow several personal doctor–nurse teams to work under the same roof. The service point will complement Espoo’s existing service network and respond to the area’s growing need for services.
Residents in the service area of the Karaportti service point will receive more detailed information about the start of the services in spring and early autumn 2026.
