Strategi courses for parents of children and young people diagnosed with ADHD/ADD
We are offering free strategy courses in autumn 2026 for parents of children and young people aged 4–12 and 13–17 who have been diagnosed with ADHD or ADD.
The courses are based on the Swedish Strategi method, which has been introduced in Finland by the ADHD Association of Finland. The courses aim to provide parents with basic information about ADHD/ADD and methods for supporting positive behaviour, strengthen their parenting role and make everyday family life easier.
Each course consists of five evening sessions. The sessions cover the following themes:
- basic information about ADHD/ADD
- strengthening the parenting role and making everyday life easier for the child or young person and the family
- methods for supporting positive behaviour
- tools for preventing and managing challenging behaviour
- support networks and services available in the community.
Parents of children aged 4–12
The course will be held on Tuesdays from 20 October to 17 November 2026, from 16.30 to 19.00, online via Teams.
The course will be led by Strategy parent guidance group facilitators Linda Hedberg and Saara Halttunen

Parents of young people aged 13–17
The course will be held on Wednesdays from 21 October to 18 November 2026, from 16.30 to 19.00, online via Teams.
The course will be led by Strategy parent guidance group facilitators Jennifer Rajainmäki and Heljä Telaranta

The courses will be held in Finnish, but the course materials are also available in Swedish. Participation is free of charge.
Where possible, we recommend that both parents or other adults involved in the child's everyday life attend the course together.
