Specialised dental care

In the Special Dental Care Unit (LUVN-Sehy) we offer specialist-level dental care.

To access treatment, you need a referral from a health center dentist in the Western Uusimaa Welfare Area (LUVN). Based on the referral, a specialist dentist will assess your need for treatment and, accordingly, you may receive an invitation to the Special Dental Care Unit (LUVN-Sehy) for an examination visit. During the examination visit, a discussion will be held regarding the possible treatment plan, schedule, and cost estimate.

Our services include, among others: oral and maxillofacial surgery, treatment of gum and periodontal diseases, complex root canal treatments, severe dental phobia, replacement of missing teeth that significantly impair bite function, and treatment of severe masticatory muscle-related issues. We also provide special dental care for children in the area.

Conditions for receiving the Service

The health center dentist in the LUVN area determines the need for specialized dental care and, if necessary, makes a referral to the Special Dental Care Unit.
Specialized dental care is free for patients under 18. For those aged 18 and over, the service is subject to a fee. Charges include a consultation fee, procedure fees, and dental technician costs. Oral healthcare fees contribute toward the annual payment ceiling, except for dental technician work. Late cancellations will incur a fee for patients aged 18 and above. Fees for other specialised medical services, such as those provided by HUS, are determined separately.
