Moreover, the aim is to maintain the functional ability by means of medical treatment and rehabilitative measures, so that patients can live safely at home safely for as long as possible. The objective is also to provide guidance and both coordinate and monitor the implementation of the treatment and services. The goal of the memory outpatient clinic is to increase the knowledge of memory disorders and to promote a positive attitude towards people with memory disorders. The examinations may also involve imaging and laboratory examinations, for which you will receive separate instructions.

Conditions for receiving the Service

The services of the memory outpatient clinic are provided through a referral made by a physician due to a suspected memory disorder. Patients over the age of 70 are primarily referred to the memory outpatient clinic. Reasons for seeking the services of the memory outpatient clinic: - the patient or their relatives are concerned about the patient's short-term memory, even if their social functional ability has remained the same - the patient has memory problems that are causing problems with work or daily chores - the patient is forgetting scheduled appointments, using health services in an inappropriate way and has difficulties in complying with the treatment instructions - the patient is losing items and has increasing difficulties in understanding their use and purpose - the patient's ability to reason and solve problems has decreased and their conceptual thinking has decreased, e.g. difficulties in taking care of financial matters - the patient has mood swings and is anxious and apathetic in connection with their short-term memory becoming weaker - the patient has a history of sudden confusion during hospital treatment, for example - the patient's need for assistance is increasing without a known reason.
