Mental health and substance abuse services for adults (over 18 years of age)

We offer advice related to mental health and substance abuse as well as basic level treatment and rehabilitation.

Mental health and substance abuse services for adults are intended for all residents of the wellbeing services county. We can provide you with guidance and advice, an assessment of your treatment needs and treatment planned in cooperation with you according to your needs. You can come to our service without a referral.

The goal of mental health and substance abuse services is to increase mental well-being, strengthen mental health and control substance use, and reduce the harm caused by mental health problems and addiction. Our goal is also to improve our clients' everyday ability to function at work, in studies and in relationships.

Our service also includes preventive mental health and substance abuse work. We carry out preventive work in cooperation with our clients, organisations and other professionals. Preventive work includes, for example, various groups and events that support mental well-being.

Conditions for receiving the Service

You can come to adult mental health and substance abuse services without a referral. We will determine your need for services and care during your first meeting with us. We will plan further treatment with you on the basis of your individual needs and an assessment of your need for treatment.
The service is free of charge.

Here for You

Start by completing the Therapy Navigator(external link). A professional will go over your results with you. After that, you will be provided with guided self-help to address your situation.

In guided self-help, a professional will provide support as you navigate your situation. You have an active role in the process, but you will maintain regular contact with the professional throughout the treatment period. In this video, psychologist Pasi Roslund talks more about the benefits of guided self-help.(external link)

Following the guided self-help phase, you and a professional will evaluate your progress. Should the need arise, you may be directed to services like mental health or substance abuse groups, or enter professional treatment based on an individualized treatment plan.
