Omatila, a unit that supports people experiencing violence in intimate relationships

Omatila provides free support related to domestic and intimate partner violence for all residents of Western Uusimaa.

Domestic and intimate partner violence can affect anyone. It may involve, for example, fear, coercion, controlling behaviour, physical violence or psychological abuse. Intimate partner violence can take many forms and often affects the whole family. Violence also affects children, even if it is not directed at them personally.

At Omatila, you can:

  • talk confidentially about your situation
  • receive support and guidance
  • consider your options at your own pace
  • plan your support together with us.

You can seek help at an early stage. You can contact us even if you are not sure whether what you have experienced is violence.

We also work with children and young people. The work is based on voluntary participation and is provided with the consent of the guardians and in cooperation with them. We offer professionally guided peer support groups. We assess clients' safety risks and, where appropriate, refer them to a shelter home or work with them to plan a move to safe housing.

We provide services in Finnish, Swedish and English. If necessary, we will use a remote interpreting service.

Omatila opening hours: Mon-Fri from 8:00 to 15:00, Sat-Sun closed. Omatila can be reached via phone on weekdays from 8:00 to 15:00, tel. 043 825 0535, or via email: omatila@luvn.fi.

Omatila walk-in service in Espoo (Pyyntitie 3) is available without an appointment on weekdays from 9:00 to 11:00.
