Ask for help on behalf of someone else

If you suspect that another person needs help or support in matters related to their living situation due to mental health or substance abuse problems, you can file a notification of the need for help. In this case, you do not need the consent of the person in need.

Health care and social welfare workers will immediately file such notification if the person is obviously unable to take care of themselves or for their health or safety, or if the best interests of the child absolutely require it. In this case, secrecy regulations do not prevent filing a notification.
