The Day-care Centres on the Move programme helps day-care centres ensure that their children have enough opportunities to be physically active every day. The goal is that every child engages in physical activities daily and has fun doing it. The programme was established in Vantaa in 2019 and all the day-care centres in the city are involved in it. The service is provided free of charge.

The service is carried out in cooperation with the city’s sports and fitness services and early childhood education services. The coordinators of the City of Vantaa help day-care centres create fun physical activities by, for example, providing courses and training for early childhood educators. Some courses are carried out by the Day-care Centres on the Move programme, some with in cooperation with external operators.
