Home services for families with children are social services under the Social Welfare Act. These services involve supporting parenting and daily coping together with the family, as well as strengthening the family’s own resources. This is done by guiding the family in childcare and household tasks, as well as enhancing everyday skills.
The client applies for a service voucher from their local welfare area. After the voucher is granted, the client selects a suitable service provider from the list of service voucher providers maintained by the welfare area. The client contacts the service provider to initiate the service. The client can also purchase the service privately without a service voucher.
Home services are generally chargeable. The family’s income affects the fee and its amount. The client can also purchase the service privately without a service voucher, without value added tax, provided they meet the conditions outlined in the Social Welfare Act
