On schooldays students are provided with a free warm meal at school, planned according to the nutritional recommendations. School meals cover about third of daily nutritional needs.
The basic food provided in secondary schools is lactose-free. There is no need to inform the food services of a lactose-free diet.
School meal services are provided by Kaarea Oy. Kaarea Oy also sells snacks in some upper secondary schools in Turku.
A student will be offered a special diet if the reason is medical, religious or ethical.
Notify your school of a special diet based on health or conviction using a form signed by your guardian. All school meals are lactose-free, so there is no need to separately report lactose intolerance.
