Professional support worker services assist children and young people who are clients under the Social Services Act or in child protection open or aftercare services. We offer professional support in areas such as helping with extracurricular activities or mobility and errands outside the home. The support worker facilitates daily life by taking the child or young person to activities, supporting homework and schoolwork, or assisting with the transition to independent living.
The client applies for the service from their own welfare area. After the service is approved, the client's social worker will contact the service provider to arrange an initial meeting.
