Supported housing refers to living independently in a rented or owner-occupied dwelling, and it involves social welfare services, such as support provided by an instructor. Support visits are organised to the clients’ homes to make it easier for them to live independently, run errands outside their home and manage their daily lives.
Supported housing can also be arranged close to the Disability Services’ housing unit, which can also provide support.
This support may involve home visits, and guidance may also be provided by telephone or video calls.
