Personal assistants' strike notice for 6–12 June 2023

24.5.2023 11.09

The Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors (JHL) has issued a second strike notice for personal assistants, now for the period of 6 June to 12 June 2023. If carried out, this strike will be nationwide and affect all municipalities in the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County. The strike applies to duties within pay group A.

By JHL's decision, the strike does not encompass tasks whose neglect would pose a threat to life or health. The previously introduced bans by JHL on additional work, overtime and shift swaps as well as the job search embargo will continue indefinitely across the country.

How to proceed if the strike begins

If you have a service voucher, your primary option should be to use service voucher assistants. If none are available, a relative can work as your personal assistant. If a relative serves as your assistant during the strike, please contact the Disability Services customer service after the completion of work hours for matters concerning the payment of your assistant.
