Joint management for the housing services in the wellbeing services county
Starting from 1 May 2025, the housing services in all service areas of the wellbeing services county will be integrated into a new unit responsible for housing services with a shared management structure. The director of this unit is Timo Turunen.
The change does not affect the services offered to our clients.The ho using services units will also remain unchanged.
We provide housing services for the elderly, persons with disabilities, mental health and substance abuse clients and child welfare clients. The forms of service include 24-hour residential care, short-term housing, communal housing and supported housing.
The new organisation is divided into seven units:
- Eastern zone 1 housing services, services for the elderly and persons with disabilities
- Eastern zone 2 housing services, services for the elderly and persons with disabilities
- Central zone 1 housing services, services for the elderly and and persons with disabilities
- Central zone 2 housing services, services for the elderly and and persons with disabilities
- Western zone 1 housing services, services for the elderly and persons with disabilities
- Western zone 2 housing services, services for the elderly and persons with disabilities
- Housing services for children and young people and housing services of the mental health and substance abuse services
In accordance with the decision of the County Board (16 Sept 2024 § 140, in Finnish(external link)), a review of the operational model for our own housing services was conducted from September to November 2024. Based on the review, a joint management structure in the production of housing services supports the development of service quality, client experience, shared learning and the dissemination of best practices.
The aim of the reform is to improve cost efficiency, client-oriented services and the quality and safety of housing and support services.
