Lunna, the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County’s digital service platform, celebrates its first birthday on 9 April 2026. Over the past year, more than 411,000 conversations have taken place on Lunna, and user feedback has been positive.

Lunna now has around 224,000 users. In every municipality in Western Uusimaa, more than 30 per cent of residents use the service. The highest relative share is in Kauniainen, where Lunna is used by 57 per cent of residents.

“I am pleased that people in Western Uusimaa have embraced Lunna and that we have been able to serve our residents well through this new channel too. Much of the credit goes to our professionals, who have readily made this new tool part of their daily work,” says Sanna Svahn, Wellbeing Services County Director.

User satisfaction has remained strong throughout the year. The average rating for the first year was above 4 on a scale of 1 to 5, based on users responses to the question of whether their matter was resolved via Lunna.

January was the busiest month so far

To date, Lunna has hosted more than 411,000 conversations through chat and non-urgent messaging. The busiest month so far has been January 2026, with around 44,000 conversations. Of these, approximately 25,000 were chat conversations and around 19,000 were non-urgent messages.

We are expanding the services available through Lunna

Lunna's first year marks only the beginning. By the summer, personal information and self-booking in selected services will be available in all Western Uusimaa municipalities. In future, appointment booking will be transferred to Lunna gradually, one service at a time.

According to Nelli Myllylä, our Director of Development, existing services are being continuously improved, while new features are also being introduced.

“We want to lead the way in making use of technology, and we are ready to try new things with confidence. This year, for example, we will pilot an intelligent symptom assessment tool,” says Myllylä.

Besides chat and non-urgent messaging, Lunna includes a range of other services. As an example, Myllylä highlights the free and openly available Lunna digital care pathways, which, among other things, support users in strengthening everyday wellbeing, quitting smoking and adopting healthier eating habits. Professionals can even open a Lunna care pathway for clients — for example, to support follow-up during recovery from gastroenteritis. Furthermore, in May we will introduce a new care pathway for monitoring and treating gestational diabetes.
