All Western Uusimaa residents will be able to view their health data in Lunna from 21 May

21.5.2026 9.24

All Western Uusimaa residents will be able to view their appointments, patient records and laboratory results in Lunna, and to book appointments for selected services.

In May, we will introduce a new self-guided path for giving up gambling, as well as a supported path for monitoring and treating gestational diabetes.

The services available in Lunna, the digital service channel of the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County, will be expanded on 21 May. Going forward, all Western Uusimaa residents will be able to view information in Lunna such as appointments, patient records, laboratory referrals and laboratory results.

Lunna displays only information and entries related to services provided by the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County. For example, entries related to HUS services remain available in Maisa. MyKanta provides a consolidated view of information from both public and private social and healthcare services and is also the easiest way to renew prescriptions.

Lunna will also offer broader options for cancelling appointments in the wellbeing services county’s various services. The cancellation of appointments is subject to the cancellation terms of the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County.

Appointments for selected services can be booked in Lunna

Self-service appointment booking is available for selected services in the Lunna app and in the browser version of Lunna at lunna.fi. At present, clients can book appointments for:

  • an initial maternity clinic appointment (remote appointment during weeks 8–10 of pregnancy)
  • first physiotherapy and adult occupational therapy appointments
  • school and student health care appointments, such as an appointment with a public health nurse or the pre-conscription medical examination.

The range of appointments available for self-booking will later be expanded gradually. During the current transition period, other digital service channels are also still being used for self-service appointment booking. For example, appointments for dental care or vaccinations at health stations are booked through a separate online portal at luvn.terveytesi.fi. The aim is that, in the future, all self-service appointment booking will take place in Lunna.

Going forward, Lunna can also be used to send either a non-urgent message or an anonymous contact request to the social services and patient ombudspersons. Social services and patient ombudspersons provide advice and assistance if you are dissatisfied with the way you have been treated, the service you have received, or the care you have been given in health and social services or in early childhood education and care.

Lunna makes it easy for older people and their loved ones to manage service-related matters

Senior Info has already been serving older people and their loved ones through Lunna. For example, it has been possible to agree with the client’s designated worker that a dedicated conversation thread for non-urgent messages will be opened in Lunna for the client and the person acting on their behalf. Moving forward, Lunna messaging can also be used to contact services for housing services and hospital services for the elderly.

“You can contact Senior Info for guidance and advice on social welfare services if, for example, you are having difficulty managing at home.  You can have a near real-time conversation via chat, while less urgent matters can be handled by sending a non-urgent message, which will be answered within a few working days,” says Tuula Suominen, Director for Elderly Services.

Your trusted person can use Lunna on your behalf if you grant Suomi.fi authorisations for both social welfare and healthcare services. In Lunna, the other person must be added to the user’s profile for acting on their behalf.

Digital care pathways provide support for everyday life

Lunna offers free self-guided digital paths that are open to everyone. These can provide support, for example, for improving wellbeing in everyday life, quitting smoking or eating more healthily. Professionals can also open a supported path for a client, helping them, for example, to monitor recovery from a stomach illness.

In May, we will introduce a new self-guided path for giving up gambling, as well as a supported path for monitoring and treating gestational diabetes.

Lunna is the digital care pathway of Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County. It allows residents to use services smoothly via chat and non-urgent messages in Finnish, Swedish or English. Lunna can be used in the smartphone app and a web browser.
