8. From a couple to a family
A newborn family member brings many kinds of changes to the family and to the parents' relationship. This time, we will discuss this topic from different perspectives. What does your own background bring to the relationship? What is equal parenting? We will contemplate the hopes, fears, and common rules related to the birth of a baby and a relationship. How can you argue safely? The intention is also to get tips for managing everyday issues in relationships.
The family coaching session on relationships is organised in collaboration with maternity clinics, family work units, family counselling centres, and parishes in the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County.
In Espoo and Kauniainen, the meetings are organised in groups where participants can discuss with each other. The events are held in Finnish. In other municipalities, the course is organised remotely.
All events are open to families expecting a child in the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County.

9. Father groups
The relationship between a father and child is meaningful for both the child and the father, and it brings significant well-being to all involved. A father's involvement from the child's birth supports the formation of a close bond between father and child, which, in turn, positively affects the relationship between the parents as well. In our groups, we explore growing into fatherhood both during the pregnancy phase and the early childhood years.
Father groups are currently led by our experienced fatherhood counsellors, Harri, Esa and Jarmo.
Currently, our Dad Groups meet only in Espoo and Siuntio, and meetings are held in Finnish. You are welcome to join us at a convenient location.
