Outsourced dental care service

A client may, for example, be referred to an outsourced service for follow-up treatment after receiving urgent care. Outsourced services are available at certain designated private dental clinics. When you are granted an outsourced service, you will also receive a decision on which treatments are covered. The Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County is responsible for the competitive tendering of service providers and for concluding agreements with them. The Wellbeing Services County also decides which services are outsourced. Outsourced services are granted to clients within the limits of the budget allocated to the services. For clients, the price of dental care is the same as it would be at the dental clinics of the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County.

Outsourced services are granted at the Wellbeing Services County’s own dental clinics or via dental care customer service.

You will receive your outsourced service number via text message or by post to your home address. The outsourced service is valid untill date informed to you. The treatment must be completed before that date.

When you are granted an outsourced service, you will also receive a decision on which treatments are covered.

1. Select a dental clinic that provides outsourced services. You can choose which one you want to attend. You can find the clinics’ details on this page.
2. Book an appointment. You can contact the clinic for information on the availability of appointments. When booking your appointment, provide your outsourced service number and tell the staff that you are a client of Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County’s outsourced services. 
3. Visit the clinic for treatment in accordance with your treatment plan.
4. Pay for your treatment with the invoice sent by the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County.

The final price of your treatment depends on the procedures you need. The cost of treatment is the same as it would be at the public dental clinics of the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County. The Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County will send you an invoice for the treatment you received at the private clinic as an outsourced service.

Please note:

• The fees paid for outsourced dental care services count, with some exceptions, towards the annual payment ceiling specified in the Act on Client Charges in Healthcare and Social Welfare. If you are unhappy with the service you have received, you should primarily contact the dental clinic in question. You can also contact the dental care customer service of the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County. If needed, you can also contact the Patient Ombudsman for advice.

You can choose a dental clinic from the options listed below. These companies may also have dental clinics in other locations, but they are not available to you as an outsourced service.

These dental clinics are accessible and barrier-free. There are no devices for lifting clients in the consulting rooms.
