Coaching for persons with disabilities
The coaching aims to strengthen the skills needed to conduct an independent life. It is also of assistance whenever major changes take place in your life.
In coaching, you can practice skills, such as independent living and use of public transport.
We always set a goal for your coaching together. The coaching takes place for a period agreed in advance. It includes:
- practice of skills and social interaction,
- sign language classes or guidance in augmentative and alternative communication methods,
- support in life situations involving change, such as when your functional ability, environment or family situation changes.
The content of the coaching varies according to your needs and life situation.
Conditions for receiving the Service
Persons with disabilities are eligible for coaching if they do not have necessary skills to lead an independent life or their skills are inadequate. You can also take part in coaching if you need to practice your skills in a new environment. The purpose of the coaching is to prevent long-term need for support by strengthening the skills needed in independent living. The coaching is intended for persons with disabilities who can learn new skills through coaching. If the skill concerned is one that you cannot learn through coaching, your needs will be met with other services, such as personal assistance or special support for inclusion.The service is provided free of charge. Maintenance may be subject to a fee.
