Financial assistance for persons with disabilities

We support the purchasing of everyday equipment and assist with additional food and clothing expenses.

We can grant you financial assistance in accordance with the appropriations reserved for the service.

The assistance covers special costs resulting from your disability or illness. The assistance is intended to cover costs related to your need to purchase different equipment and technical solutions as support.

'Equipment' refers to a vast array of different equipment, devices and machines necessary to maintain daily functions, move, communicate and participate in leisure activities. 'Technical solutions' refer to solutions created through technical developments with the aim to enhance inclusion and independent life of persons with disabilities.

Assistance is granted for devices and solutions, such as

  • communication tools,
  • household appliances necessary due to functional limitations,
  • recreational and leisure-time equipment and devices,
  • safety equipment and devices, and all associated technical solutions.

Assistance is not granted for

  • regular household equipment or technical solutions available in most households
  • medical rehabilitation equipment.

Conditions for receiving the Service

The reimbursement paid out to a person with a disability is half of the reasonable cost of the equipment, machines or devices. Equipment and solutions need to be necessary to carry out daily functions, move, communicate or participate in leisure activities. Assistance is granted in accordance with the appropriations available.
The service is provided free of charge. The reimbursement amounts to no more than half of the reasonable cost of the devices or technical solutions.
