Short-term care
We can provide persons with disabilities with short-term care, supporting their family and friends to cope and, for instance, carry out their duties at work or study.
Short-term care is provided on a temporary basis or at periodic intervals. Persons with disabilities may need services in situations we have prior knowledge of or in urgent situations. Acute need for assistance may result, for example, from illness of the person in charge of the care, the need to run some errands, a crisis situation or the care arrangements for another family member.
Short-term care is intended for persons with disabilities of all ages who require round-the-clock care and attention due to illness or disability. We offer short-term round-the-clock care in a housing unit or in family care. Short-term care for a child with a disability can also be arranged in the child's home.
Short-term care can also be provided for children with intellectual disabilities or severe autism in the form of
- morning and afternoon care intended for schoolchildren or
- holiday care intended for schoolchildren and students.
In such cases, the care offers support for the parents so that they can work or study. The care is intended for children who cannot spend time alone at home or participate in regular morning and afternoon activities. We provide holiday care from the start of school summer holidays until Midsummer and from the beginning of August until the start of school.
