Financial assistance for persons dependent on a ventilator
You have the right to financial assistance for maintenance costs if you are a person dependent on a ventilator. The assistance amounts to a maximum of EUR 1,400 per month. Assistance is paid out to you for the period in which you are not in institutional care in the healthcare services. You cannot receive financial assistance if you simultaneously receive maintenance allowance granted to you based on previous regulations. Financial assistance is paid out as a last resort. Before applying for financial assistance, you need to ensure your right to primary forms of assistance. These include general housing allowance, housing allowance for pensioners and housing supplement for students. If you receive any of these, we will deduct the corresponding amount from your monthly financial assistance. If your family receives housing allowance, we will reduce the financial assistance paid out to you. The deductible part is calculated by dividing the amount of general housing allowance paid out to the household by the number of members in the household. In addition, we can deduct from your financial assistance EUR 50 for each day you have spent in short-term institutional care in the healthcare services if you also have received financial assistance during this period. The amounts mentioned will be adjusted by a decree of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health every two years.
