Intensive multiprofessional support for persons with disabilities

The support is intended for persons with disabilities, close friends and relatives of persons with disabilities or professionals who work closely together with persons with disabilities. We provide support primarily in the home of a person with a disability or another of their operating environments. Persons with disabilities can experience challenges in communication, social interaction or behaviour. Due to these challenges, the client's or other persons' human dignity, health or safety may be at risk. Intensive multiprofessional support is a service produced in cooperation by the social and healthcare services. The support is provided by an expert group for multiprofessional support, composed based on the intensity of the individual situation and need for support. Providing support requires special professional competence and multiprofessional cooperation, and the service encompasses necessary healthcare examinations.

Conditions for receiving the Service

The support is intended for persons with disabilities who experience challenges in communication, social interaction or behaviour. Due to these challenges, the client's or other persons' human dignity, health or safety may be at risk or identification of the causes behind the use of restrictive measures impacting their fundamental rights, and prevention and reduction of the use of restrictive measures require multiprofessional support.
The service is provided free of charge. Maintenance and meals may be subject to a fee.
