Services for minors who have arrived in Finland without a guardian
A child who arrives in the country as an unaccompanied minor may live in a family group home or family care. The child will receive round-the-clock support and care and get to live the everyday life of a child. The aim is to help the child integrate into Finland.
A family group home is a home-like residential unit. In family care, the child is placed in a family.
Conditions for receiving the Service
The family group home and family care supporting integration are intended for minors who have arrived in Finland without a guardian. Children are entitled to the family group home services or family care supporting integration when they receive a residence permit and a municipal place in a municipality either through the reception system or as a quota refugee. The service is granted on the basis of a client-specific service needs assessment.The service is free of charge.
