Support for daily living

In some situations in life you may need help from others in one way or another. Support in day-to-day life can take different forms. It can be practical support, advice and guidance from a professional, or a friend lending an ear, saying a few encouraging words or spending time with you.

Support can be especially needed in situations, such as crises, experiences of violence, retirement, unemployment, experiences of loneliness, or moving to another country. The help can be practical assistance, such as shopping, sharing household chores, taking care of children, and providing company and doing things together. Small acts, such as helping a neighbour to clear snow or having coffee with a friend can be very meaningful.
