Senior Info off to a successful start
Senior Info, the new telephone service for the elderly and the people close to them, is off to a successful start. So far, there have been more than 1,300 calls. All call-backs have been made during the same day.
Senior Info, the new service for the elderly and the people close to them, was launched before the start of the wellbeing services county at the turn of the year. Senior Info's telephone service has been available and actively used by residents as of 20 December 2022.
Customer manager Ingrid Lang from Kauniainen, who takes calls on the helpline for the elderly, says that even though the start of the Senior Info was exciting, everything has been going smoothly.
- We have been in a good mood and able to solve problems of the clients successfully. I believe that from now on, the service will keep improving, describes Lang.
So far, Senior Info has received 1,320 calls. The phone calls are answered daily by 9–11 service counsellors in the eastern and western zone.
Laura Euramo, the head of the service unit for the eastern zone of Senior Info, explains what kinds of questions are asked most frequently by callers to Senior Info.
– Thus far, the most common question is where you can reach your own health centre. A relative worrying about an elderly person’s ability to cope at home is another reason for calling Senior Info. Many questions are related to transport services, catering services or cleaning services, and people ask for service needs assessment. There have also been questions about what the new Senior Info comprises, says Euramo.
According to Euramo, the start of Senior Info has been going reasonably well as a whole. It has been possible to make all call-backs during the same day.
- I hope that the elderly have found the new services and that they know how to use the call-back feature of Senior Info and have the courage to use it, too.
