The Oima Service and Tax Cards for Contractors and Compensation Earners
The Oima service has been designed to simplify everyday tasks for fee-based contractors and other individuals who receive non-wage compensation for work. This group includes informal caregivers, family carers, and support persons. It is crucial for these contractors to use the correct tax card.
Oima retrieves tax card information for fee payments directly from the Finnish Tax Administration. Therefore, contractors must have a specific tax card for the applicable type of income registered with the Tax Administration. The usual tax card for salary does not suffice for payments categorized as non-wage compensation.
