Content on the luvn.fi website available in 11 languages with artificial intelligence
We are improving the accessibility of the luvn.fi website for residents in our wellbeing services county who speak a language other than Finnish or Swedish as their mother tongue.
On 13 May 2025, we introduced an AI-assisted translation tool allowing website content to be translated into 11 languages. This is a year-long pilot.
Content on the luvn.fi website can now be read and listened to in the most spoken languages in our county. These 11 languages are English, Estonian, Russian, Arabic, Persian, Somali, Albanian, Ukrainian, Chinese, Kurdish (Kurmanji), and Vietnamese. The Swedish-language version of the website is not affected by the change. From now on, content in Swedish will also be translated using an AI-assisted translation tool. However, all translations are reviewed by a human.
More than 19 percent of the residents in Western Uusimaa speak a language other than Finnish or Swedish as their mother tongue.
