Lunna and services for children, young people and families – major updates coming this autumn

28.8.2025 5.21

From 25 September 2025, Lunna will be updated to cover more ground within our services for children, young people, and families. The update makes it more flexible and secure for clients to contact our services:

  • Non-urgent messaging in more services
You will be able to send non-urgent messages to your school social worker via Lunna.
Your school’s social worker will reply within three working days. Non-urgent messaging will also be available for Family counselling, Family social work and Children’s mental health services. This also means that professionals can start message conversations with clients in Lunna.
  • Sending attachments to clients of child welfare services
In child welfare services, clients can receive attachments via Lunna, making communication and information sharing easier.
    Video appointments expand
Video appointments in Lunna are being introduced for maternity and child health clinics, school and student health services, and school social work services. In November, video appointments will also be introduced in the Circumstances assessment team.

Looking ahead to January 2026
The next Lunna expansion is planned for January 2026, further expanding the ways clients can access and interact with services.
