The Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County is introducing a shared client information system. The system will first be introduced on 17 March in Espoo and Kauniainen in services including social services, home care, and housing services. The change may cause temporary delays in services.

The Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County will introduce the Lifecare client and patient information systems in phases by the end of May 2026. The shared systems will make using services easier, as the same service channels will be available regardless of municipality. For professionals, work will become easier and more straightforward as practices are unified across the region.

The Lifecare client information system will go live on Tuesday morning, 17 March, in services including social services, home care, housing services, and assessment units in Espoo and Kauniainen, as well as in social and crisis emergency services. The change will not cause any visible interruption in services, but services may be temporarily slower while professionals get used to the new system.

The introduction of the system will also change the March billing schedule for services billed monthly. Read more about the billing changes in the separate news item below.

With the introduction of the shared client information system social services client data will begin to appear in OmaKanta in phases from 17 March onwards.

One system will replace the old systems

Tommi Kuukka, Director of Digital Services at the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County, says that when the wellbeing services county began operating, 36 different client and patient information systems were in use across the area.

“It is a major reform that we will now be able to work within one shared system. This will make our professionals’ work clearer and support the development of our services. I would already like to thank both our professionals and our residents for their patience if the change causes delays or slower service during the spring.”

The next phase begins at the end of March

In Ingå, Karkkila, Kirkkonummi, Lohja, Raseborg, Siuntio and Vihti, the Lifecare client and patient information system will be introduced from 29 March 2026. The change will cause interruptions over the weekend of 27–29 March 2026. We will provide more detailed information separately about the introduction at the end of the month and the related interruptions.

By the end of the spring, the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County will have a shared client and patient information system in use throughout the region. This will make it possible to provide better and more consistent client service across the area.
